About the owner Syed Shabbir
It is not to often that you come across an individual who has achieved more than what most individuals take generations to do.
For some people leaving 'home' and starting fresh on your own is not the easiest thing to do. The owner of Grain and Salt had to do just that.
Upon completion of his degree in Hotel Management from Lossaine, Switzerland Mr. Syed Shabbir decided to go back to his home town of Bombay and work for the Oberoi Sheraton, a part of the Sheraton Group of Hotels. From what it seemed after years of working for such an organization Mr. Shabbir wanted to take it one step further, the USA.
Now to come to the land of opportunity and not know what to do next is quite a questionable situation. However through friends back in high school, college and so on Mr. Shabbir met a familiar face in town and took the opportunity to work as General Manager for one of Boston's most renowned Indian Restaurants, Bombay Club.
Through thick and thin he was there for six and half years never letting anything put him down. With time being of the essence and supporting a family Mr. Shabbir had to make an inevitable decision, it wasn't until recently when Mr. Shabbir and his wife Salvana, who has supported him through this long journey, decided it was time to open their own venture - GRAIN & SALT.
Grain and Salt is the result of hard work and dedication to achieve what no Indian has been able to do, serve the heritage and culture of India and Pakistan on the customers plate - Syed Shabbir
If it wasn't for my wife Salvana I would not be standing here, where I am today - Syed Shabbir
